Girls will curtsey and boys will bow down to the empress of electro, PEACHES, at BIG DAY OUT 2010.
PEACHES has been in-your-face and delivering deliciously dirty, avant-garde electro with punk attitude for nigh on 10 years, since first inviting the world to Fuck the Pain Away. Back then she was unique to the point of being unimaginable. Today, there are many pretenders to her crown (hello, Lady Gaga) but PEACHES remains untouchable. Over four albums, she’s shocked, rocked and confronted the taboo – and never failed to entertain.)
Some have suggested that I Feel Cream (which makes use of the production talents of Simian Mobile Disco, Digitalism and Soulwax) showcases a more mature PEACHES, and that, at 42, she may have toned it down a little… Yeah, riiiiight. “What's the point of that?' Peaches asked The Age. “Just because I’m older? I really feel sorry for people under 40. They don’t know about our secret club.”
“She’s rude, lewd and she needs her mouth washed out with a large bar of soap” (stuff.co.nz), but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Surrender to the force of nature that is PEACHES at BIG DAY OUT this summer.
